Stuck at a conference all week, looks like I'll be night-bloggin'. So instead of paying attention I wrote this:

I have so many scars

on my hands.

And I can remember

distinctly how each one

came to be.

No matter how insignificant

the cause,

no matter how much I wan to

block out a traumatic moment.

I remember:

The hot throttle plunger from

a GO KART,

that left a perfect circle twice

on the back of my right hand.

The razor clam that

split my left index finger in two.

A grease splash on my wrist.

The chunk of skin removed from

my knuckle in a fight.
No matter how insignificant,
No matter how traumatic.
